Jio Glass is a new futuristic device developed by Reliance Industries Limited (RIL). Kiran Thomas, President, Reliance Industries Limited said “Jio Glass is at the cutting edge of technology that provides best-in-class Mixed Reality services to give users a truly meaningful immersive experience”.
Now, the question arises, What exactly is mixed-reality?
As the name suggests, Mixed Reality is a mixture of real and virtual worlds that produces new environments and visualizations. It is an environment where physical and digital objects co-exist and interact in real-time. In simple words, it binds virtual objects to the real world.
During the 43rd Annual General Meeting (AGM), Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) presented their new innovative and futuristic gadget named Jio Glass. Kiran Thomas, President of RIL also gave a demo on the working of Jio Glass.

Currently, Jio Glass is not available to the public. The date of the launch and pricing for the product has not been disclosed by Reliance Industries Limited (RIL). But, according to sources, it is speculated to be launched during the month of August 2020.

During 43rd AGM, while giving a demo, they revealed a few features and specifications of Jio Glass. Jio Glass weighs 75 grams and has 5G connectivity speed. This device has a camera in the top center position for visuals. This device comes with a cable that can be used to connect to smartphones. It uses 2D and 3D holographic interaction for communication. The high-resolution display gives the best-in-class visual experience. Jio Glass comprises a spatial and personalized audio system that supports all the audio formats and provides crystal clear audio quality to the user. As per Kiran Thomas, President of RIL, Jio Glass supports up to 25 applications.
